Kirsten Carter, LAc, LMT, RYT.

BA in RTF at the university of Texas in Austin
Massage Therapy at A New Beginning School of Massage
Masters in Oriental Medicine at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine

Kirsten is a compassionate and sensitive healer. She has been a licensed massage therapist and Reiki master for 10 years, has a masters degree in Oriental Medicine from AOMA

Graduate School of Integrative Medicine. At AOMA, she was able to rigorously study Chinese medicine academically and clinically. She elected to include tuina (Asian medical bodywork)
and medical qigong as focuses at AOMA. Yoga is a daily part of her life’s practice as well.
Kirsten has especially had success alleviating pain from acute or chronic injuries, menopausal and peri-menopausal symptoms, carpal tunnel syndrome, and erectile dysfunction. Her current studies include Japanese “Hari” style acupuncture with Takayuki Koei Kuwahara. This East Asian medical art regulates and balances the flow of ki in and around the meridians to strengthen one’s life force.
She is currently a member of Acupuncturists without Borders and will soon be learning how to help communities who are faced with natural disasters with acupuncture.
Her first wakeup call to become a healthcare practitioner came when hurricane Katrina hit and the aftermath was felt throughout our southern region. “I wanted to have a skill to help people with their physical and emotional losses that was not dependent upon modern technology — for in times of natural disaster, modern technology is not always readily available.”
Another current focus of study is facial acupuncture in order to assist patients in not only feeling their best but looking their best. Constitutional Acupuncture is a  form of facial acupuncture that incorporates and treats the patient’s psycho-emotional being by way of the 8 extraordinary channels — therefore treating the root of a person’s appearance. Kirsten is taking into her practice several sources of facial acupuncture modalities to offer to her patients who would like to include anti-aging therapy as part of their wellness care.
“What I love about my work is that every day, I have the opportunity to help people feel better and recover from their illness/conditions naturally with acupuncture and herbal medicine.”
